Le titre générique "Ecce homo" a tout d'abord été composé par Howard Goodall pour une pièce chorale religieuse. Les paroles en latin, quant à elles, ont été modifiées spécialement pour la série "Mister Bean" :
"Ecce homo qui est faba. Vale homo qui est faba."
Ou en français : "Regardez l'homme qui est un haricot. Adieu l'homme qui est un haricot."
